The 2022 Texas Democratic Platform. Which is the same as the 2020 platform. Much rhetoric! A big contradiction is the statement that "Elections must be made secure" and then makes it difficult to secure elections due to such proposals as doing away with photo ID and increase the same day voter registration. Much discussion of "LGQBTIA+". This discussion includes bias against and needed criminal justice reform for "LGQBTIA+" such as immigrants and the disabled. There is a repeated discussion of a 15.00 per hour minimum wage. Etc

We could have a much bigger problem on our hands now. State Senator Borris Miles and Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis became a lot more powerful than they were prior to the Texas Democratic Party Convention. By allegedly strong-arming Carroll G. Robinson into throwing his support behind Gilberto Hinojosa, they (Borris and Rodney) were able to get some concessions. What makes them more dangerous now, is that many of the dead Black people who had their identities stolen and had "ABSENTEE MAIL-BALLOT APPLICATIONS" requested in their names lived inside areas of Harris County, Texas that are controlled by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, State Senator Borris L. Miles, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, State Representative Senfronia Thompson, and State Representative Harold Dutton back during the 2020 Democratic Party Primary that took place during the 2020 Presidential Election cycle. So, please stay tuned, as this story is still developing!”

Wake Up With Mr. Bill And Special Guest District 18 Candidate Carmen María Montiel

EP 122
July 12th, 2022 09:00am
Can this Hispanic female candidate beat Sheila Jackson-Lee in November? She thinks she can, and we will talk to her. Congressional District 18, now held for 27 years by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee, was once an overwhelmingly black district with nearly 60% black voters. After the latest redistricting, the district is 44% Hispanic, 35% Black, and 17% White. Carmen María Montiel who was born in Venezuela and came to the US to attend college, thinks that unless we get rid of office holders like Sheila Jackson-Lee, Texas and the U.S. will become Venezuela. Carmen was Miss Venezuela 1984. She’s an American journalist, writer, and activist. She is also the author of the 2020 memoir, Stolen Identity: A Story of Love, Violence and Liberation. Carmen will share her “Sheila Jackson-Lee Retirement Plan” with us as she is Mr. Bill’s guest this morning.

Wake Up With Mr. Bill And Special Guest Texas House Member District 15 Rep. Steve Toth

EP 122
July 5th, 2022 08:00am
Did Texas go too far in passing the Restorative Justice Bill of 2013? To reduce the number of prison inmates, Restorative Justice, swept the country in the early 2000’s. Instead of using traditional methods of punishment, Restorative Justice seeks to put the victim and the defender together to try to reach “Agreement.” It was especially embraced by those with good intentions in political, religious, and criminal justice organizations. Among its intentions is to shield the conduct of high school students from police, for it could otherwise be illegal. Mr. Bill’s guest today is Rep. Steve Toth, Texas House Member District 15, who is proposing a bill to repeal the Restorative Justice Bill in 2013. If we have enough time, we will discuss whether Texas is ready for “initiative and referendum” to recall rogue district attorneys. California is recalling two of its county district attorneys. DA’s in Travis, Dallas, and Bexar counties have said they WILL NOT enforce the Heartbeat Bill and Harris County’s DA says she will prosecute on a case-by-case basis. Should we allow these DA’s to decide which laws they are going to enforce?
